We are thrilled to release the only product of its kind ever, Face Serum - Gel Serum with Green Pasture® Oils, for use on face and neck! The sole, whole-food ingredients are:

* Green Pasture® Oils (Fermented Cod Liver Oil, Fermented Skate Liver Oil, Concentrated Butter Oil).
* Tallow from 100% grass-fed cows.
* Therapeutic-grade essential oils.

The ingredients in all other face serums are either chemically synthesized or chemically refined to the point that they are no longer in their whole-food matrix and beneficial to the skin. These chemical processes can also leave toxic residues in the product that aren't even listed in the ingredients. (For just one example, see Harmful Ingredients of Modern Skin Care.) That means that if the ingredient looks like a chemical, it IS a chemical. Our face serums contain many of the same ingredients of much more expensive products but in their naturally occurring, whole-food form. Here's a run-down of some of those ingredients:

Antioxidants: The #1 purpose of a face serum is to deliver antioxidants to your skin. The whole-food ingredients of our face serums are chock-full of antioxidants like the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, many fatty acids like conjugated linoleic acid, as well as beta-carotene and many other potent antioxidants.
Retinol/Retinoids: In all other face serums, these are synthetic forms of vitamin A which have been shown in studies to be toxic (see Harmful Ingredients of Modern Skin Care), but the naturally occurring, whole-food form of vitamin A is found abundantly in our face serum ingredients.
Botanicals: Instead of highly refined plant botanicals, our products provide whole botanicals in the form of the most pure essential oils available, therapeutic-grade and produced to the highest standards in the industry, steam-distilled from plants grown at the highest standards and not adulterated, extended, synthesized, or distilled using chemicals or high temperatures and pressure, with no middlemen, eliminating the possibility of adulteration. People who have had problems with other essential oils have found that they don't have problems with the ones that we use.
Squalene: This antioxidant is a known constituent of fermented skate liver oil and helps the skin to deeply absorb the other nutrients in our face serums.
Collagen: Chemical analysis has shown that fermented cod liver oil contains naturally occurring collagen in a very bioavailable form.
Proteoglycans, Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate), and Melatonin: These are closely related to collagen and are often derived from fish and dairy, so, while there is no testing yet to prove it, it is very likely that these are also found in our face serums' fish and dairy ingredients.

We have two varieties of Face Serum with different combinations of essential oils at a higher concentration that help neutralize the smell of the fish oils in addition to providing therapeutic benefit. The maximum benefit is obtained when both are used since they work synergistically:

Arise and Shine Gel Serum™ has essential oils of orange, jade lemon, dorado azul, hyssop, myrrh, bergamot, geranium, and peppermint.
Upon waking, apply Arise and Shine Gel Serum™ very sparingly to face, neck, and/or décolletage and allow to absorb. If it doesn't absorb with just a little smoothing in, then too much was used.

Restore Nighttime Gel Serum™ has essential oils of orange, tangerine, cardamom, lavender, Roman chamomile, ylang ylang, palo santo, cedarwood, and sandalwood.
Just before bed, apply Restore Nighttime Gel Serum™ very sparingly to face, neck, and/or décolletage and allow to absorb. If it doesn't absorb with just a little smoothing in, then too much was used.

This [Face Serum] is easily better than store bought synthetics of similar or higher price. The regular tallow balm from VT are excellent (especially Epic Glow) but this is definitely the premium product in their line-up. It is much less solid than the regular tallow as the ratio of oils vs tallow is greater. This means it is easier to apply, but this also means there is more smell from the oils. The smell will be off-putting for some. It smells like Epic Glow but stronger (kind of a cod liver smell). Please be aware of this, but note that the smell wears off quickly (at least to my nose). Sometimes I use the serum under my eyes, but regular tallow balm on the rest of my face. Certainly effective at healing and restoring skin. Perhaps one of the best products in this niche. The only competition is the other tallow products from VT.

I will never use anything else on my face!
I am a long time fan of Vintage Tradition Tallow Balm, especially the Epic Glow for my face. However, when I began using the Gel Serums, my skin found a deep healing. I had several ingrown hairs that looked like scars and was unable to do anything about them. Within a very short period of using the Gel Serums, the hairs came to the surface and since then the scars have healed. I had other blemishes come to the surface and heal, as well. These Serums are so healing for the skin! I have developed a deep rosy glow and people comment on how young I look. I'm almost 50! The scent is a bit strong at first, but now I don't even notice it. My skin drinks these serums in and work wonderfully when I use it with my gua sha. I've been searching for a long time for an animal fats facial moisturizer and I have finally found something I trust and my skin greatly benefits from. Thank you Vintage Tradition for creating the product my body was screaming for!
